About Revolutions Brewing

Our beer is inspired by, and pays homage to, music from the analogue age.  Before digital downloads and compact discs, music revolved at three speeds: 33, 45 and 78.

Our beer evolves in a similar way and is only ever brewed to three strengths: 3.3%, 4.5% and 7.8%.  Each of these is a beer family, or group, with different characteristics and evoking different styles of music.  Reflecting the black of vinyl records many, but not all, of our beers are dark in colour.

Read on for a description of each of our three beer groups.

The 33s

3.3% strength beers inspired by traditional rock and based on more traditional English beer styles.

Regularly available:
The Original 33: a dark mild beer full of malt flavour with very little bitterness.
The JRP Ravenscroft: a pale, aromatic 'session' beer.

The 45s

Like 7" 45s from the heyday of New Wave, these beers are a little more edgy.  Encapsulating the hugely experimental era in music that was New Wave, these beers are designed to shake your senses.

Regularly available:
The Original 45: a porter style beer with balanced malt character, and subtle hop flavour
Kraftwerk Braun Ale: a brown ale made with a hefty dose of German ingredients
Devolution: an American-style pale ale

The 78s

Like 78 records these beers will be rarer than their slower speed counterparts. Richer, more classy beers conjuring images of smooth jazz and swing.

The Original 78 is an imperial stout - dark, rich, satisfying.
